Devon U15 Girls Twenty20 (Round 1) - Match Reports 2015
Devon v Cornwall

On a beautiful morning at Exmouth CC, hosts Devon met Cornwall for the first of the T20 matches of the day.

Having won the toss, Devon decided to bat and opened positively with Libby McNally (18) and Imogen Beasley (19), both finding the boundary. Cornwall's Eve Rosevear (4-0-22-2) took both these wickets. Devon's captain, Ellie Ingham-Hill (25), continued Devon's positive batting; as did Rose Ball (26) and Daisy Meadowcroft (25no), Devon scoring a total of 12 boundaries for their innings of 159.

Cornwall lost early wickets at the hands of Rose Ball (4-0-12-3), which gave Devon the very start they had planned; so with Cornwall on 7 for 2 in just the second over and then 18 for 3 off 6 overs, Devon looked in a commanding position. Cornwall completed their overs but struggled to chase Devon's innings, and finished on 74-7.

Devon v Somerset 27.51.15

With their earlier T20 success from the morning, Devon having lost the toss, Somerset elected to bat. Early wickets put Devon in a confident mood, with Somerset on 7 for 3 off just 4 overs. It was only Somerset's S Hamilton (37no) and Tilly Bond (17no) who really showed intent with the bat who completed Somerset's innings on 100-6.

Devon were also to lose an early wicket, and were 12 for 1 in the third over. Somerset's Jodie Filer was to do the most damage taking 4 wickets, 3 in her second over; though this wasn't enough to stop Devon from reaching their total of 104 in the 15th over. Notable batting from both Imogen Beasley (25) and Ellie Ingham-Hill (26).
